Our Resource Services department gathers a wealth of current information in the field of Deaf education. We are happy to provide an array of opportunities for both specialist teachers of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing and general educators to support their students’ success through access to resources, mentorship opportunities and collaboration with our professional community.
PD Pop Ups:
Formerly known as ITSO, SWITO, Symposium East & ITNO, all of our formal professional development opportunities have gone virtual and are now being offered as PD Pop-Ups! These opportunities are designed for Teachers of the Deaf & Itinerant Teachers of the Deaf and hard of hearing to learn about various current topics in the field of Deaf education. Central Perk:
This informal opportunity allows Teachers of the Deaf & Itinerant Teachers of the Deaf and hard of hearing across Ontario to discuss current issues and dissect case studies together. The Fundamentals for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Student Success:
This 8-part series is offered to classroom teachers, SERTs, LRTs, EAs, Administration and Educators-to-be (including teacher, EA & ECE candidates in training) to provide an overview of the basics of working with Deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) students in the classroom. This series is ideal for educators who may be working with a DHH student for the first time. Please place a referral to offer this workshop in your board or organization.

Consultative Services:
PDSB consultants are also available to review individual student needs, such as support with programming, transitions, assessments, equipment, IEP development, IPRCs and parent meetings. Please place a referral to access these services.
